Website Activities

Activities: grammar, vocabulary and culture activities + quizzes
Note: The activities may take some time to download - please be patient!
Windows: After downloading, double-click the file and then click "Run". A shortcut named "Challenge 1" will appear on your desktop. Double-click it to open the activities.
Linux: After downloading, right-click the file and select "Open with 'Wine Program Loader'". Two icons will appear on your desktop. You can trash the "lnk" icon. Double-click the "desktop" icon and then click "Mark as Trusted". The icon will change its name to "Challenge 1". Double-click it to open the activities.

Internet-based Activities

Unit 1: Colour
Activity: Choose three countries. Describe each flag (colours, shapes, elements, etc.) and compare them to the others. Finally, state which one you prefer and explain why.

Unit 2: Food
Activity: Choose one food from three different categories. Explain why it is considered a healthy food. Prepare a simple recipe that includes the three elements you selected.

Unit 3: It’s Amazing
Activity: Choose one character from the list and describe him/her. Explain what kind of things he/she can or can’t do in their everyday life because of their strangeness.

Unit 4: Around London
Activity: Choose two stations, one as the starting point and the other as the destination. They should be on different lines. Explain the route you have to follow, the different lines you have to take, the price you have to pay and the estimated time it takes you to reach your destination.

Unit 5: School
Activity: Look at the grid called 'The English School System'. Compare ESO and British school systems in a new grid. Look for similarities and differences. How many school subjects can you find in the British schools? How many in Spanish schools? Which system do you prefer?

Unit 7: Shopping
Actitvity: Write the name of an article you like and compare different models. Write the differences in shape, price and quality. Finally, state which one you would buy and why.

Unit 8: Homes
Activity: Read the list of house types, choose three examples of each type (single-unit housing, movable dwellings and attached dwellings) and compare the advantages and disadvantages of each type. Where do you live? Would you like to live in another type of house?

Unit 9: Who Did It?
Activity: Choose one category between Science, Culture, Religion and Politics, and then choose a famous character from the past. Look for information and write a very short biography, stating name, profession, years lived, important facts of his/her life, etc. Finally, explain why you chose this character and why you think he/she is historically important.
