GENERAL TERMS OF USE - AGREEMENT WITH CUSTOMER

The online store www.burlingtonbooks.gr belongs to the company under the name "BURLINGTON BOOKS PUBLISHING SINGLE-MEMBER S.A." with TIN 094337303, Tax Office for Commercial Companies of PIRAEUS, located in Piraeus, 12 Papastratou Street & 32 Asklipiou Street, 185 45, and has received the 598/11 registration number in the special register of the Ministry of Economy, Competitiveness and Shipping (formerly Development).

Hereby, the terms applicable to those who make purchases from our online store are disclosed and its purpose is to inform you of your rights and obligations from searching for products, ordering and shipping them.
 

SALE OF PRODUCTS

The online store www.burlingtonbooks.gr sells books, English language learning materials, school supplies, bag and stationery, as well as English language assessment products (tests) through the VTest platform (hereinafter "Products"). VTest English is a portfolio of online computer-based language assessment and certification tools that meets the international standard for describing language proficiency CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages), and other international standards. You can select any of the Products available and proceed to purchase it.
 

SAFETY

The online store www.burlingtonbooks.gr uses the SSL protocol, with 128-bit encryption, for secure online commercial transactions. With this protocol all your transaction information is encrypted and protected. When payment is made by credit card, the payment is processed by the Eurobank bank site, which uses VeriSign SSL certificates, ensuring maximum protection of your data. We are not responsible for the Eurobank website (site).

METHODS OF PAYMENT

For your convenience, if you wish to purchase from our online store, we have the following alternative payment methods:

1. payment by credit card VISA, VISA ELECTRON & MASTERCARD.

2. cash on delivery to the carrier (for orders up to €500).

3. deposit to our account (at one of the banks listed in our online store).
 

METHOD OF DELIVERY

The Products will be shipped to the place you have indicated to us by courier/carrier. Especially for VTest products, the passwords will be sent via electronic means.

PRICES OF THE PRODUCTS FOR SALE

The prices shown in the relevant catalogues next to each Product include VAT (where applicable). Shipping of Products within Greece, excluding VTest products, is free of charge for three or more Products. For orders of less than three Products, excluding VTest products, there is an additional cost for packaging and shipping. For shipments outside Greece, the shipping cost depends on the shipping location, as well as the quantity and weight of the above Products. Our company reserves the right to change prices at any time. As long as the confirmation of the bank account deposit / credit card charge has been received within 24 hours of the order, any price change will not affect any orders placed, unless the price change is due to a change in the VAT rate.
 

FORCE MAJEURE

Our company shall not be liable in the event that it is not possible to deliver the Products to you at the predetermined delivery time due to force majeure. In any case, our company will inform you of any delays due to force majeure.
 

DELIVERY OF PRODUCTS

Our company will fulfil the provision no later than three (3) working days after transmission of the order, subject to availability, and in any case within 30 calendar days of the conclusion of the agreement. Our company, as seller of the Products, shall be liable for any actual defects and lack of agreed properties in accordance with articles 534 et seq. of the Civil Code.
 

RIGHT OF WITHDRAWAL

You have the right to withdraw from this agreement within fourteen (14) calendar days without giving any reason. The withdrawal period shall expire 14 calendar days from the day after the day on which you acquired or a different third party carrier indicated by you acquired physical possession of the goods. In order to exercise the right of withdrawal, you must inform our company ("BURLINGTON BOOKS PUBLISHING SINGLE-MEMBER S.A." 12 Papastratou Street & 32 Asklipiou Street, Piraeus, telephone number: 210 976 7888, e-mail address:  greece@burlingtonbooks.com) of your decision to withdraw from this agreement by means of a clear statement (e.g. a letter sent by post, fax or e-mail). You may use the attached model withdrawal form, but this is not compulsory. Please click here to obtain the withdrawal form. In order to meet the withdrawal deadline, it is sufficient to send your statement for exercising your right of withdrawal, before the deadline for withdrawal. For VTest products in particular, the right of withdrawal is subject to the condition that the passwords have not been activated.
 

CONSEQUENCES OF WITHDRAWAL

If you withdraw from this agreement, we will refund all money we have received from you, including delivery charges (excluding any additional charges due to your choice to use a delivery method other than the cheapest standard delivery method we offer), without undue delay and in any event within 14 calendar days of the day we are informed of your decision to withdraw from this agreement. We will execute the above refund using the same means of payment that you used for the original transaction unless you have expressly agreed otherwise. In any event, you will not be charged any fees for such refund. We reserve the right to delay the refund until we receive the goods back or until you provide proof that you have sent the goods back, whichever comes first. You must send back the goods or deliver them to us without undue delay and in any event within 14 calendar days of the day on which you declare to us that you are withdrawing from this agreement. The deadline is deemed to have been met if you send back the goods before the expiry of the 14-day period. You will be charged the direct cost of returning the goods. You are only liable for any reduction in the value of the goods resulting from handling that was not necessary to determine the nature, properties and function of the goods.
 

MODIFICATIONS

Our company reserves the right to modify the terms of use of the store, as well as the terms of the agreement with the customer, without any notice, by simply posting them on our website (site). The new modified terms will be valid from the moment of their posting.
 

ALTERNATIVE DISPUTE RESOLUTION

In case you encounter any problem with the Products purchased through our online store, it is possible to settle it in cooperation with our company through the European Commission's Online Resolution platform

In the event that the dispute is not resolved through the above procedure, our company reserves the right regarding the manner in which it will proceed, while also reserving the right of recourse to the ordinary courts if this is deemed more appropriate.
 

APPLICABLE LAW

All transactions carried out through our online store are governed by Greek Law.
